The International Journal of Molecular Medicine and Advance Sciences (IJMMAS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, and ethical publishing. All submitted manuscripts are carefully screened for plagiarism before entering the peer-review process to ensure that published research is original and properly acknowledges the work of others.

IJMMAS follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) regarding plagiarism detection and publication ethics.

Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts submitted to IJMMAS are screened using Turnitin or an equivalent internationally recognized plagiarism detection software before editorial evaluation and peer review.

In addition to the journal's plagiarism screening, authors are required to submit a plagiarism similarity report generated using Turnitin (or an equivalent similarity detection software) at the time of manuscript submission. Manuscripts submitted without a plagiarism report may be returned to the corresponding author before further processing.

Types of Plagiarism

The journal considers the following practices to be unacceptable:

• Direct plagiarism.
• Self-plagiarism or text recycling without appropriate citation.
• Duplicate or redundant publication.
• Mosaic or patchwork plagiarism.
• Unattributed paraphrasing.
• Improper citation or source acknowledgment.
• Unauthorized use of figures, tables, images, or other copyrighted material.

Any form of plagiarism is considered a serious breach of publication ethics.

Editorial Assessment

The Editorial Office evaluates the similarity report together with the nature and context of the matched text. Editorial decisions are based on the quality and originality of the manuscript rather than solely on the similarity percentage.

Where excessive similarity, plagiarism, or duplicate publication is identified, the journal may:

• Request clarification or revision from the authors.
• Return the manuscript for correction.
• Reject the manuscript without peer review.
• Initiate an investigation in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics Policy.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

• The manuscript is entirely original.
• All sources are properly cited and acknowledged.
• Appropriate quotations are clearly identified.
• Previously published material is used only with proper permission and attribution.
• The submitted plagiarism report accurately reflects the final version of the manuscript.

Research Integrity

Any confirmed case of plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct will be handled in accordance with the ethical recommendations of COPE and ICMJE. Depending on the severity of the violation, editorial actions may include manuscript rejection, publication of a correction, article retraction, notification of relevant institutions, or other appropriate measures to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
